Look for kitchen-appropriate designs on seed packets and old advertisements, or as small posters and prints. Here's the tips ...
What You Need:
* Photocopies of prints, or spice, herb, and other kitchen-style images
* Clear spray sealer
* Ruler and straightedge
* Wallpaper paste or decoupage medium
* Striped wallpaper or wallpaper border
* Small-link decorative chain
* Decorative picture hook
* 2 decorative tacks
* Ribbon for bow (optional)
Instructions:
1. Make photocopies of the images, enlarging or reducing for compatible sizes. Trim away the excess paper, then spray the papers with sealer to protect them from moisture and soil.
2. Using a level and ruler, mark the placement of the images on the wall. Tape them in place and make any adjustments in placement and design. Adhere the prints to the wall with wallpaper paste or decoupage medium, smoothing out any air bubbles or excess glue with a soft rag and your fingers.
3. To emphasize the center image and create a focal point, frame it with strips of the wallpaper stripe or border. If the wallpaper has a bow design, cut out the bow and adhere it to the wall, centering it several inches above the center print. If the wallpaper does not have a bow in the pattern, make a bow from ribbon and glue it to the wall. Place a decorative picture hook over the bow. Loop a piece of chain over the hook and to each upper corner of the corner image. Tack the chain to the wall at these corners and trim away the excess chain to create the look that the image is suspended from the chains.
